VHS-C video cameras - have they any value?

Hi folks - would appreciate it if you could tell me if either of these are useful or should they be binned/Freecyled. I know old film SLR's still have a following - dunno if the same applies to video cameras:

Panasonic NV-S88 - was repaired a few years ago (cost a fortune!) and never used since. Was used by some one who helped people with interview and presentation practice. Super VHS-C type, wide-angle lens, image stabilizer etc.

JVC - GR-C7E - very clunky looking thing - you would want one strong wrist to make a hand-held movie with this! VHS-C HQ.

We're flogging everything except the family christening gown - would we get anything for either of these? Where to flog - DoneDeal? Specialist shop?

    Thanks.

Probably not, out of date technology has no value. Even as a historical piece it's not old enough to be of value.

Best you could do is find some collectors I'd say. Other than that keep it in the attic for another 10 years and it might be worth something.

If it had been a JVC - GR-C1 in full working order, I would've been interested as the C7's predecessor has an imaging tube rather than a CCD. The tube's gave a very unique look which you most probably have seen on tv programs shot on video from the 70's, 80 and early 90's. Very hard to get one in good order these day s though.
The Panasonic was a great camera in it's day but as already said, not very much use to most people these days.

The difference is that SLR's and 35mm are fantastic quality whereas VHS as a shooting format was atrocious so there is no inherent value in it since DV came out in around 95. Who even has vcr's anymore, I'd bin it.

Contact Harmony Korine and see if he wants to buy it maybe.

Actually, now that I think of it maybe an artist who wants that old school Shi*ty look would be interested, you could try posting an ad on one of the Irish artists forums?

Thank you all for the feedback.
I'll check them out to see if they are OK - stick 'em on DoneDeal with no great expectations and finally FreeCycle them if necessary - I hate to chuck stuff out.
