Income tax after unemployment

    Hi,

I was made redundant at the end of November '10 and took some time out travelling until March this year. I have been claiming job seekers benefit since but have now secured contract work commencing 1st September and ending at the end of December with an annualised salary of €75k.

Can anyone advise how the income tax computation works in my case? I've gone through a few online calculators (best one http://www.hookhead.com) where it summarises the year's net income figure at €21,495.36 yet the monthly breakdown year to date income at 31 Dec is €15,887.19??
Apologies for those who think I should be able to figure this out online myself but my head is wrecked trying!!!
    Thanks
