i did my first adventure challenge earlier this year and it was brilliant. As for the running, just do what you can. I trained almost every day alternating between running/walking and cycling. Just go with the flow and enjoy your first race. then concentrate on improving your time in the next one.

I have been plagued into signing up for this event, I normally run and cycle a couple of times a week but have never combined both or taken part in any sort of Duathalon or adventure race. So I am going to apologies in advance if the following question is silly... :o:o:o

In terms of the transitions I am lost. I plan on cycling in my cycling shoes which will be clipped to the pedals of the bike however what should I do with my running shoes?? Any suggestions as to how I should carry these on the bike since I will need them again for the short ascent/descent and again for the final run after the cycle. Should I carry my runners in a back pack of some sort or tie them to the bike???? Suggestions please!!!

personally id avoid a back pack but thats just me. what about wrapping a bungee cord around them to hold them on the the cross bar??
