I wonder if there is any chance that FIVE will come onto the Sky epg in time for Big Brother so it can be recorded. My missus is a big fan and she works nights and would love to watch it the next day.

Are there plans for Sky to launch FIVE on the Irish epg?

Thats basically what I asked in my OP! I hope it will happen as there are going to be a lot of dissappointed Irish BB fans who might have chosen to record the episodes.

Ah! Well considering Five has been around a LONG time and hasn't launched here, I see no indication as to why they'd suddenly do it now!

We did eventually get BBC Three and Four after many years!

AFAIK TV3 and 3E are going to be showing a lot of Big Brother this year.

Which depressingly enough will count as a spike in their quality of output.

Not sure why anyone would want to watch BB.

But, to contradict myself, Charlie Sheen is going to be on the celebrity version. That could end up as car crash television at it's finest; certainly up there with George ''pussy cat'' Galloway!
    :D

Channel 5 never had any interest in broadcasting here, if anything they tried to stop it. While they were available here on analogue satellite, it was the nature of VideoCrypt soft encryption and not necessarily intentional.

A few years ago Channel 5 were actively looking to launch their service on the Sky EPG and cable in Ireland (it was reported in either the Sunday Business Post or the Sunday Independent at the time). Not sure why they decided against it.

Hello to your face my name is Jamimah and I love big brother, I'm new here by the way. No, would be the answer to your question. But I have a question of my own, do you have ski digital? Coz if yeh do yeh can tune it in, don't yeh know. And then you'll have lovely big brother for months and months.

It's a bit of a pain but you can add channel 5 yourself, services, add channels and input the frequency 10.773 H 22000 5/6, store but I'm guessing the SKY Plus box refuses to recognise it for recording.

    Seriously ?

I never thought I'd see the day that they'd go worse than Xposé and their fascination with the UK "talent" shows, but christ above! Time to de-tune them from the TV if they're going to be showing that rubbish.

I read in one of the papers the other day that they won't be showing it because it would be too expensive for them to buy in. Hopefully that is true:)

Fingers crossed that they cannot afford it.
