I hear that the PBP have dropped Norris and are going to get Bobby Ballagh nominated instead with SF.

    Interesting.

Isn't he famous for pop-art?

Maybe I should run for president at this point. Boards nomination?

Stamps and banknotes, and other things modern.

A bunch I once worked for used to call him Bobby Bollox.

Can't see the point of SF nominating someone tbh, and afaik Ballagh ruled himself out a while back.

He ruled himself out because he was supporting Norris...

Norris appears to be done, so he is back in the game.

He wouldn't appeal to any particular audience, so no chance.

I hope that Robert Ballagh changes his mind and reconsiders allowing himself be nominated to go forward in the Presidential Election.
I consider that he would have a huge amount to contribute to this office.

I am new to boards and thought I had already submitted my comment on Robert Ballagh for president but it doesnt seem to be there. So forgive me if this is a repeat!
I would fully support Robert Ballagh for President and feel he has a huge amount to contribute. This contribution would become apparent during the campaign e.g. his contribution to the Peace Process etc etc.

I suppose he could have appeal as an artsy "Provo lite" candidate, rather than Higgins artsy socialist lite profile.

I have never met the man but from what I have read and heard about him I consider you are incorrect in passing the remark on him with a reference to 'provo'.
Maybe you should do a bit more research before you make such broad statements.
It would be an interesting campaign. I would be interested in hearing further comments from you when you have carried out the suggested research. There was a biography written on his life within the last 12 months which I would recommend that you read - as it gives a very broad picture of Robert Ballagh - the artist , the man and the campaigner etc.
It is available from the public libraries. I cannot remember the exact name of the book - but it is well worth reading.

He campaigned against the Good Friday Agreement. Didn't provide any alternative mind you. And he designed those sh1te banknotes.

Ballagh is close enough to the Provisional movement (that includes Sinn Fein as much as it does the IRA remember) be warrant my description I think.

After all OhNoYouDidn't was moved to note
