Very interesting read about the cost of football, West Ham's cheapest ticket starting at £32:eek:

Although the most expensive match day programme is £4 and that's at Leeds doesn't sound too bad to me, and the most expensive pie is £4 at Arsenal

Very interesting alright. I would be interested to see the comparison with LOI clubs.

Obviously at the top end you have economies of scale in the premier league, but id doubt you get a cup of tea for 50c in LOI, though i may be proven wrong!

I don't go to LOI matches anymore, how much they charging for tickets and programme's these days?

Well Rovers are charging 15 bills in for the Copenhagen game tonight. You cant argue with that pricing its great. If it was FAI run or GAA they would have doubled the cost due to the 'occasion'

£4 for a pie is only cheap compared to Irish prices for everything.

From the few games I've been to I've seen a lot of people eating pies, so I'd have assumed they would be cheaper with economy of scale...Just me?

    Bohs prices are: Adults €15, Student/OAP €10, Kids €5

Can't remember season tickets off the top of my head.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I've never been to a premiership match but I doubt there would be much/if any economies of scale on the food end of things.
Probably just more independent sellers as opposed to bigger independent sellers?

Well I've only had pies at Leeds games and they were cheaper in the ground that they were outside the ground which I find weird now...

But the last time I was in Leeds was 5/6 yrs ago

Rovers charging 15 quid for adults, 10 quid for students/OAPs and kids are 7. Family season tickets work even cheaper again for adult/kid combos. For example, 275 quid for 2 adults and 3 kids.

Even if the EPL 'product' is supposedly higher end, it's hardly in the multiples suggested by the price difference.

Thanks for the info, seems like reasonable pricing for tickets.

What are the concessions like? Genereally i always find those catering vans very pricey anywhere in ireland (mostly use them at GAA).

Its €1 for a cup of tea in Dalymount and we have a Burdocks van that seems to charge normal Burdocks prices.

Bray have same prices as Bohs, with season tickets being €100.

Unfortunately the price of food at most grounds is in keeping with high prices in the country in general although vendors like Silvios up in Tallaght Stadium do decent deals in the ground.

    Galway United

    Adult €12
    Concession €10 (Third level student/OAP)
    Secondary school student €5
Family tickets €20 (2 Adults & 2 Secondary School Students)
All accompanied under-12s are free of charge.

Adult and concession season tickets cost €99. Secondary school students were €59.

    Programmes are €3.

I've no idea how much tea or food is. The club have nothing to do with those prices.

Also, one paying adult can bring in up to 3 under-12s for free as part of the Kids-Go-Free scheme.

Well at Old Trafford anyway there are certainly economies of scale, inside the ground in each block there are shops which sell the likes of pies, hotdogs, tea, coffee, chocolate, crisps, beer, soft drinks, all built in and owned by the club. They probably exploit it and could charge cheaper, but there are always huge queues so I guess the demand is there. That said the prices aren't exactly extortionate, with meal deals etc being available.

    Bohs programme is €4

Student season ticket is €100 and Adult is 220 I think

Junior gypsy (under 12) season ticket is €50

Sudent membership is 220 and adult is 365

    Tickets

    Adult: €10
    Concession: €6(really great value)

    Match Programme €3

Bottle of Coke & Yorkie was only €2.40... That's what you'd pay in your local Spar, really good value

Last time I was in the Aviva (Ireland v Wales) the prices for food was extortionate think it worked out at €10 something for two portions of chips and two sausages, plus throw another €5 for 2 drinks.

Will definitely be hitting a McDonalds before-hand the next time I bring the nephews to a match!
