Sky+ Subscription

For a few years I've had a Sky+HD box with a HD sub and another bog standard Sky box with a Multiroom sub.

Recently I bought a second hand Sky+ box to replace the bog standard box as my daughter wanted to 'pause and rewind'. When I got the box I had to call Sky to have the card paired with the box. A fortnight later I get a bill that tells me that my sub has gone up by €15  There was no mention of this during the phone call

Is this correct? Is Sky+ not free?

Sky is costly enough without this - especially as the multiroom box only has one feed from the dish.

Have I any other options? My daughter watches the Disney channels most of the time and I reckon they aren't FTA/V.

Had you a discount/offer on the HD or multiroom subs?

AFAIK Sky + recording facilities require a subscription, otherwise box resorts to a standard FTA Sky box without recording facility i.e. to record you have to hook box up to external recorder.

I certainly dont pay for the second sky+, just the multiroom (i.e. €15 not €30)

Just seen this on their web site
Good news. From 1 September 2011, a single HD fee of €15 will now cover your whole home. This means that any Sky+ HD box with a multiroom subscription will now show stunning HD. If you currently pay more than one HD fee then this will automatically reduce, saving you at least €180 each year.

thats about a second HD subscription not being required (about time too)

it doesn't relate to the OP's issue

    No - I'd no offers.

Thanks for the replies. I've never had to pay for a plus subscription before.

I think it's time to call Sky......
