Was playing golf today in bellewstown and there was a plane flying VERY low that looked like an american bomber (b52 only smaller) . It was massive, anyone know what the craic with it is?

    Any better info that that?

    Number of engines?
    Jet or prop?
    Colour?
    Civilian or definitely military?
    Direction/heading?

Would aircraft heading east to DUB normally overfly Bellewstown?

If you use the "replay" function on this website for the time in question you may be able to ID what you saw. I haven't seen any reports of anything too unusual in the area and certainly no US military flights at low level.

It had 2 engines on each wing and it was dark green or greyish colour. Was flying from the north heading south towards Dublin. Just thought is ask out of curiosity, it was flying very low and was so loud. Can't be any more specific because I don't have a clue about planes. Was just the colour that made me think it might be a military plane. Definitely was anything the aitcorps have

It actually was an Air Corps aircraft. It was the CASA Maritime Surveillance aircraft. Heard it working Dublin ATC giving position reports and intentions to operate between the area you mentioned and Carlingford from about 1pm.

Saw it outside Dundalk yesterday flying east from the general direction of Monaghan. Then this morning saw one of the Agusta's flying the opposite route. Is there an excercise or something going on that has them operating up that part of the country ?

C252 was heading out on normal maritime patrol, whilst out it was tasked to search for a missing vessel near carlingford lough. Today,AW274 was just on operational duties around the border region

The Casa flew over Cootehill, co. cavan on monday at approx 12.05hr . It looked to be about 2-3000' and heading aprox 100-110 degrees which would tie in with carlingford lough i guess . First time i have ever seen the Casa over Cavan .

Anyone know if this was flying over Tallaght this morning bang on 8am?

Was on away to work and seen aircraft matching the above description. Thought the 'flanges' or 'bubble' was more pronounced on the aircraft i saw but it must be the same machine.
