Hi, looking for a versatile experienced drummer with a natural feel for dance style rythmns. We use a sampler on some tracks so an ability to play alongside sequenced beats would be desirable. This is an ongoing project, we've been working together 18 months now experimenting with different styles but the main thrust is dub-influenced music with some serious riffage thrown in. mixing up a fairly diverse set of influences reggae-wise: groundation, midnite, dub sydicate, zion train, dreadzone, lee perry; also into spacey bands like ozric tentacles, gong, hillage etc, as well as the good old blues n rock. Also into Faithless, Leftfield, Halucinogen, LTJ Bukem and anything else dancey but reasonably intelligent! Not a big fan of minimal techno.. or dubstep, sorry!

So if you've even heard of any of the above bands might be a good place to start!

We also do a fair variety of covers (necessary evil!) obviously some marley tunes, a few of the soundsystem classics like sleng teng, etc, some punky reggae too: bankrobber, police & thieves... as well as the odd "classic" rock number just to keep up our chances of pleasing the punters, but we like to keep it mostly with at least a reggae connection, e.g the police

plenty of gigs waiting for the right person (obviously need to be flexible!) but right now would be most interested in hearing from anyone who A. knows at least half of the bands/tracks we've mentioned and B. wants to make the kind of music we do. (i know its a long shot!)

We rehearse weekly in Mountshannon, Co. Clare, anyone interested is welcome to come check out what we're doing, have a chat, a jam and a nice cup of tea!

Thanks for reading this load of waffle!

    Lads,

What you're doing sounds interesting. I would be interested in meeting up beginning of september when I am back in the country.
Do you play any funk and jungle as well....?
