Anyone following the GUI Most Improved Golfer 2011 competition?

Is it being played on the O'Meara course again this year and was it off the Blues last year?

Would like to see the last few weeks tables. When I check my member details on golfnet if says I am entered in the most improved competition. I started April 2011 at 20.9 but have lost 0.4 in April, gotten 2 0.1's back in May and then lost 2.2, 1.2, 1.2 in the last 4 weeks, probably not good enough to make the paper or Carton House though!!!

Definitely is good enough. I got cut 2.1 and made the paper. Long time ago now it seems hahaha

Is the list published anywhere else besides in the paper or is there anywhere to view previous weeks results?

Being cut nearly 5 shots in a month!!!Wow well done but surely the starting h'cap needs to be questioned in this instance?..Is this taken into account for golfer of the year?

One of the lad I play with occasionally started the season off 18 and struggled a little bit. He is now off 14 and I wouldn't be surprised if he got down another few before the season ends.

Another guy at out club is playing off 0.2 and I am lead to believe he is only playing about 3 years. Their is also another guy who I played with earlier this year is bouncing around 8 or 9 and had only been playing 1 season (started off 16).

Some people just take to it IMO

I've been playing regularly for 5/6 years off 21, never won anything and never managed to get cut, way too inconsistent, a new set of irons, 2 short game lessons and more time at the range / practice green have made all the difference. I didn't even manage to win a competition in July despite being cut 5 shots which is disappointing!

    Hi
Someone mentioned this to me Saturday.
I started playing golf in mid April with friends 2011, joined a club end of June playing off 19, then I was pushed out to 19.3 now my official handicap is 15.0 after playing ok in July and excluding a further cut today so now it should be 13.5 with 41 points. Would that be good enough to qualify for Carlton house?
    Cheers

Hi barrym697.Not sure how much you would need to have come down to get you into top 10 in your cat but wouldn't be far off.
Bad news is fairly sure entry date has well passed

Hah, entered this and see myself in the top 10 in cat 2 today. Nice one. Further 0.6 cut today should keep me there for next week!
