Just to let any players out there thinking of entering this unique tournament that the date has been changed to Saturday 28th January.
Entry is limited to 16 players, and there are a few places left.

Just wondering is there any known players entered for this like Delaney, Morris,Judge,Fernandez types?. And is there standing room for spectators if they're welcome to drop in?

I would like to think they would enter but we hav'nt heard any word from them as of yet, it seems communication is a big problem with running a snooker event in Ireland these days.
The original date for the Classic was pushed back two weeks to accomadate players who wanted to enter a RIBSA ranking event that was being held on the same day, we picked the 28th as it was a free weekend on the calendar, but low and behold the organisers who recently ran the PTC in Killarney decide to use that date for the annual club championships.
This will now take players who committed to the Classic away and down to Killarney instead.
It's too late now for us to change the date again as the Grand Finals are due to be held in February.
The Dublin Billiards & Snooker Leagues have been kind enough to plug the event on their website and RIBSA are due to write a piece on their site too.
Hopefully players out there who have the talent and aspire to further their career with the vision of turning pro will be aware of the event.
Last week the Northern Section was held in Leeds where 16 players entered with the top two qualifying for the Finals, 16 players will do the same in CrossGuns in Jan, so a player has to win three matches and he will qualify.
Ok sorry about ranting! But when I hear players moaning in this country about the lack of opportunities to turn pro etc and they don't embrace an event like this it annoys me.
At the end of the day this is a non profit event, the entry fees go straight into the payments to Q School.
So if any one out there fancies their chances or knows someone who might have a go then get in touch, we have 5 free places.

Oh and yes all are more than welcome on the day to watch

    Again sorry for ranting.

The Munsters have been brought forward to the 20th now, which clashes with the IPA pool event in Bundoran, I'll be going to Killarney with Douglas Snooker Club in Cork but would've liked to make both, can't please everybody unfortunately :(

Once again the date has had to be changed to accomadate the confusion on the Irish Snooker Calendar.
It will now take place on Saturday 4th February.
And finally this seems to have accomadated most of the players.
The 16 places are nearly taken and all are welcome to come and watch the action.
A few top amateurs have entered, most notable name so far is Joe Delaney who i'm sure is hoping to get back on the main pro tour again.
The link to the change date is here:

Great news from the Grand Finals in Gloucester today as both Johnny Williams and only in the last few mins John Sutton have both won their quater final matches and are now in the semi finals of this unique event. One more win each and they will qualify for next May's Q School for the chance to join the main tour and play alongside all the top players.

Irishman John Sutton qualified for Q School next May by reaching the final of the Snookerbacker Classic yesterday in Gloucester. He lost the final to englishman Martin O'Donnell 4-0 but both had already done the hard bit by reaching the final and pick up a Q School place each that the only thing to play for was the trophy and title of Snookerbacker Classic champion 2012.
The other Irishman Johnny Williams who qualified to play in the Grand Finals yesterday fell at the semi final hurdle but should be proud of his achievement by getting so far.
