Bushings on rear anti roll bar

    Hi,

This may seem like a silly question but anyhow!

I got the bushings changed on the rear anti roll bar on my 00 Ford focus a few months back. However the rear suspension has started to rattle mad again, I had a look yesterday and it looks like the nuts are coming loose!!! (I think old locking nuts were used) My gut feeling is that I can just get new lock nuts and replace the old ones.
The question is once I replace them is it just a case of tightening the bushing as hard as I can or is there a set distance, is there a calibration required? Basically is this job bigger than I think it is???

    Thanks,

    Colm

    Hey,

It's actually the Anti roll bar rear link nut and bushing that's loose, hope that makes things a bit clearer!

    Hey,

thanks for that Muckeyw, I think I might just replace them altogether, I priced them today @ approx €30 for two. I'm starting to doubt that they were replaced at all last time, the locking nuts are very old and the rubber washers (if that's what the're called) are starting to fall apart! I think they were just tightened!!!

Anyone got a picture of how these should look when fitted?

The arm and roll bar should be between the 3 bushes on each one. The larger bush in the middle separates the arm and the roll bar from each other.

Thanks Plug, but just to be sure to be sure! I've got the first bushing under the arm, the large bushing above the arm, then the end of the roll bar, the last bushing and then the bolt passing from bottom to top!!!!!
