Training camps for slow swimmers

I would really love to improve my swimming and I was thinking about signing up for a training camp some where sunny for a week, but I have a couple of questions.
Would someone as slow (21min 1Km) as me, just getting in everybodies way?
Are these camps aim at people who are already good swimmers and are just looking to tweak there already good technique?
Have any of you guys been to one of these training camps and if so how did you find it, could you recommend it?

Many moons ago I went to a weeks swimming camp in the UK, near Manchester. It was for competitive swimmers with two sessions a day, plus land work.

Some of my swimmers buddies also went to camps in the USA, all for advanced swimmers.

Can I ask what age group are you in?
The reason why, a few masters swimming clubs go on their own training camp abroad. Their own coach is there and hence it would suit all levels of swimmers. This maybe your best solution, if there is a masters club near you.
Besides this, I cant suggest any "slow" camps!

Would you believe me if I said late 30's and still can't swim :o.
Yea, I had a feeling that those training camp would be for the fast guys, If only they knew there was a huge market in people who just want to be the second slowest guy in the pool.

    What about something like this?

If not, is there a local swimming club in your area? See if they have any swimming camps for masters.

The Swimtrek holidays are great if you're looking for open water swimming...they're usually 5-7 days long and the average swimming distance per day depends on the place and the week (it's given in the info section for each holiday). They do some technique work including underwater filming usually but the focus for most of their trips is more on doing lots of swimming in a nice area. They do have some tours now (linked in the last post) that are focused specifically on swim coaching so they may be more what you are looking for.

The good thing about them as regards speed is that they divide the group of approx 15 into 3 groups according to their speed. Each small group then swims together (with safety cover) so there's not so much pressure to keep up.

I did their long distance camp in Malta a couple of years ago and really liked their whole set-up, it was very well-organised (although they are expensive so I'd suppose they'd have to be!).
