How to buy S&P 100 Index ETF through Goodbody online

Hi,

As the thread subject says, I'm trying to buy the S&P 100 Index ETF (http://www.google.ie/finance?q=NYSE:OEF) through Goodbody, but can't seem to find it - I can find the 500 no problem.

Has anyone done this - and how? It seems to have dropped a bit because of the American default crisis, and want to take a punt!

They are on holidays. Its a bank holiday, ring AIB phone banking not sure if they still deal with this since it was sold.

Just make sure your fees aren't too high. You can buy S&P 500 ETF's for $5 with some brokers. Don't let any prospective returns be swallowed by fees. The Irish brokers have notoriously high fee schedules.

Thanks for that. To be honest, I never bought them - Goodbody, despite the attempts by the person manning the fort on the bank holiday yesterday, only got back to me this morning, to say that the S&P 100 ETF is an Over The Counter product, that I would need to buy through a telephone account.

I'm kinda glad I didn't, in retrospect....

What other brokers do you use? I went with Goodbody because it was easy to open at the time, and I figured I wouldn't be making too many trades (max 2 or 3 per year)

I emailed Goodbody to enquire as to what ETFs I could buy through them, and they replied that a definitive list is not available, as they are constantly adding & removing from the list. They mentioned that I can either check with them, or try typing the stock name into the on-line buy page to check if it's available for me...a bit cumbersome, especially that you can't free search...

I think I'm going to look into alternate brokers, but from laziness of going through the hassle of establishing another account, here is my list so far should anyone be interested:

I have been over & back with Goodbody, and they are making ETFs for the above available for their online customers using euro based stocks.
