I like them, much the same engine is in the zt, prone to hg issues in that guise though.

Jesus I'd like to buy that and shove it in the back of a shed. They have started going up in value in the UK.........still doesn't get over the fact the engines are fragile, the dash lifts, the sills rust badly on them and the electrics are fragile.

I'm currently getting ready to pour money into the MGF so sadly this has to stay where it is.

£30k new also so it was in expensive territory which never helped sales. Mini Rolls though.

I wonder is that the same one that was sold in Carlow recently........

EDIT: Just to add that's a manual which is rare

I quite like that too. If only a lump of bills hadn't landed on, I might have bought it.

It might not be that bad in fairness. The sills need checking in the center and if the issues are electrical they can be fixed by someone who is handy with a soldering iron.

    If it's the engine mind........

I've never been in one but they are HUGE to look at in the metal. Could just be a case of "It's a Rover and therefore not worth bothering with"

    Manual? Meh. Auto FTW.

I was lookign around for an 800 after my 620 died a few years ago. Never ended up getting pne though.

Correct, wrong box for the car hence it's a rarity

About 3 years ago I was bidding on this one on Ebay...........

    http://www.rovervitesse.com/htm/coupe.htm

Was winning the auction with a bid of £1200 and odd, max I was willing to got to was £1300, the lad who has that site won it for £1315 iirc :(

That one was a 2.0 turbo, he's since sold it, more than likely not on the road now I'd say.

If you remember the reg, you could enter it into DVLA's 'Vehicle Enquiry' facility on their website.

With these later Coupe 800's, I'd say the best engine to go for is the turbocharged T Series. Apparently the timing belts are nearly impossible to do on the KV6's, in addition to the usual head gasket problems etc.

They require timing tools specific to the KV6, KC Motors quoted me €1300, mine is on the original belts and will be staying on them too tbh. Fingers crossed they last 'till Summer 2012 :D

    That's insane money.

I'd imagine this engine is rare in Ireland, as they sold feck all 800's by the time it was launched and you rarely see 75's with them.

There are a fair few 2.0 petrol 75s about, they're KV6 too, very much the same essentially as the 2.5.
