19.2E transponder causes a reset

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a resetting box on transponder:

    11778 V 27500 on 19.2E

    Receiver is a Silvercrest SL65

It's been like that for me for a while, since the beginning of the year perhaps, maybe earlier. I get the same reset on two different SL65s, at 2 different locations, and today I tried my own box with another LNB, and I get the same reset.

I found some newer firmware, updated the box, reset remained, reverted to original firmware, still resets.

I know that the transponder has been ok in the past, as I've seen TCM and Cartoon Network when they've been in the clear previously, just wondering if there is anything on that transponder that could cause a box to flip out.

A scan on just that TP or an autoscan would cause a reset. Today I deleted the transponder, and did a "TP preset" scan, and the box completed the scan fully, no issues. If I do an autoscan, it will find 11778 again, and reset.

I understand that the box could be beginning to have issues, but with just one TP? The other box I tested wouldn't have had a quarter the duty cycle as my own, so I wouldn't think it's down to wear, but I appreciate that electronics can go funny even with little to no use.

But I still think there is something funny on that transponder, as 28.2E uses the same transponder frequencies, and on my SL65, it scans with no issues, so I don't think it's a limitation of the box.

So, anyone with an SL65 or other receiver experience anything similar? I know it's a pretty much redundant transponder with all the encrypted channels, and CNN available elsewhere, just the experimenter in me wondering how other boxes are behaving with this TP.

I have not used a sl65 for quite some time but when I did I had a similar problem everytime I switched to a HD channel. I see from lyngsat that there is a MPEG4/HD channel for MTV Live on 11778V on 19.2E. I used to be able to delete the channel from the menu without actually switching to it or at least just switching to it for a split second but not letting the receiver "lock" in. Your problem appears to be worse as you cannot even scan the transponder. Different firmware could be the cause. I know this may not be of any use to you but at least you know it is not a fault with your specific receiver.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, I've seen issues with HD channels as well, if they've been scanned in, and I move onto a HD channel while scrolling through a list, it might seem like the receiver is freezing up, but it usually "lets go" a short time after a button is pressed to move to the next channel.

At least it doesn't look like it's something terminal with the receiver. I just find it peculiar that other transponders with, on the face of it, a similar mix of SD and HD streams using DVB-S/MPEG-2 seem to be behaving differently with this SL65. I can understand it not being able to get a sniff of the DVB-S2 transponders, but it will happily tune in the ITV HD channels (although not show the picture) and then throw a wobbly when that one particular TP is scanned.

Anyway, it's no big loss, but it would be nice to be able to see some difference or quality on this transponder that could be causing the problem.
