Right, got my iPad 2 a few weeks ago, and LOVE it, haven't put it down since i got it, but when i do put it down(while im sleeping, haha) I wasn't happy about leaving it down with the back getting damaged/scratched on the back.

I searched around for a while, trying to find a hard case for the back that wouldn't add too much bulk, yet also still allow me to use the smart cover to protect the front of the device.

I came across the Incipio iPad 2 Smart Feather
    http://www.myincipio.com/iPad-2-Cases-Accessories/Incipio-iPad-2-Smart-feather-Ultralight-Hard-Shell-Case.asp

It's only about 1mm thick, and it's designed to work WITH the smart cover. Even with the case on i'm still able to use the smart cover in the typing position, and in the movie watching position, i love it!

Picked it up in CompuB in cork for about 30euro, it also came with a clear screen protector, deffo worth the money if ya ask me, and they come in the same colors the smart covers do! :)

Would you say it would work with the iPad Dock? Would there be any problems fitting it into one with the back on?

Yes, it'll work with the iPad dock, I can't get over how thin this case it, it's great.

Pugwall, let me know here when you get it, it's a great case, I even ordered the orange smart cover to go with it.

Seems stranged similar but i'm not complaining it was just a little over €12 including P&P.

That looks sweet and very good value. Post up a review when you get it. I could probably do with getting one

Is it true you can't remove the smart cover if you're using the Incipio Smart Feather?

I initially bought the Smart Cover as a stop-gap until I got a folio style case, but I've grown to love it so I'm keeping it and getting something to cover the back. I was thinking of the Speck Smart Shell (A guy in CompuB showed it to me) but it seems to be sold out everywhere!

I had a look at the Incipio Smart Feather but read some negative reviews about not being able to remove the smart cover when it's in place so I'm not sure.

I bought this one for transporting the ipad around. Very nice about 23€ in Argos. It slips over the smart cover fine

It says it clearly on the link the OP provided in the first post.

Yes, it's true to actually take the smart cover off, you have to remove the incipio case aswell to get the smart cover off, but this also results in a VERY strong case...you can actually swing the ipad around by the smart cover, and it won't fall out of the case! :)

Yeah i'll let you's know if it's similar or just a crap knock-off. I didn't see in the link that the smart cover couldn't be removed with the case on. No a big deal really but still it should be more clear.

It's right under 'features' - must be used in conjunction with Apple smart cover. Sorry I can't copy and paste from the webpage for some reason.

Oh yeah I see that now. But for me it doesn't really scream out you can't remove the Smart Cover. I think a simple astrix with a note with something like Please Note: Smart cover cannot be removed while using this case.

That's just me though haha. Still not a major problem. BTW OP is the material used gripped kinda plastic or is it that slippery kind of stuff? I only ask because I sometimes worry I'll drop my iPad because that back is very slippery imo.

Just recieved my rear cover today. Really quick shipping turnover.

    Just a quick review.

Very high quality, rubber-grip material so no worry about it slipping. It came well packaged by royal airmail. Was a little difficult to snap into place on the back of the iPad at first but got it eventually.

Really happy with it, it looks the same as the Inciipio cover. And cost just over €12. Recommended buy.

Plus I can remove my smart cover with the case on. I don't know what that was about on the Inicipio website.

Yeah the incicpio case is a matte fninsh, nice and rubbery and non slip!

My incipo clear Greyish colour case arrived today and I am delighted with it. It looks well and doesn't take from the fresh look of the iPad 2. It has a nice feel to it and the transparency looks well. It fits like a glove and the apple front cover is compatible too. I was worried about scratching the back case of the iPad but now it's a s snug as a bug in a rug. A tad expensive but worth it for the protection.

Glad you took me recommendation pugwall.

    It's a fantastic case!

Did you get the grey back to match your grey smart cover?
