Braces, teeth not meeting

I got braces fitted on Wednesday. Ceramic ones. The orthodontist put something hard on top molars, feels like an oversized filling. He said it's to stop my braces/ teeth hitting off each other. This is stopping my teeth meeting, and even though the brace pain has subsided I can't eat properly. He said it will wear down.

Is there any way to make it go any faster? There was a sharp bit inside where my Tongue is and I ran my nail along it and it broke off. So it's not totally hard.

Hope that makes sense. I'll pop a pic in aswell.

This is when I bring my teeth together there is a gap.

EDIT: Another question aswell, should those coloured dots on the braces have been removed??

Hi Jwacqui, you have what are commonly called "Build Up's" on your molar teeth. These separate your teeth any allow the braces to work more efficiently. The coloured dots are to aid orientating the brackets and will disappear quickly.

Thanks so much! Been looking on the site recently its great. The build ups are so annoying! Can't chew anything properly!

I brush my teeth 3/4 times a day and those dots haven't budged! Thought maybe they were supposed to remove them and didn't.
