IS ti possible to set up an account without a credit card? I find it crazy that you cant.

The only solution online I can find is by having a redeem code.

If anyone has any spares let me know. (i'm not looking for free credit or anything, just a crappy redeem code, like a free song or something)

    Thanks :)

do it on an iphone/ipod/ipad, go to the appstore and try download a free app
it will ask you to sign in or create a new account, set it up and it will let ya leave the payment details as none

i'm not sure if it will work that way with itunes but its worth a try

    Hey Guys

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534

This doesn't work. There is no option for "none".

I only have a iPhone, so cant try it on an iPad.

so i am going to the app store on the iphone, selecting a free app (also tried with a paid app), filling in all the details then I get to billing informations.

"to create an Apple ID, you must provide a credit card, gift card or gift certificate information. You will not be charged until you make a purchase."

Payment options are Visa, MasterCard and Amex. There is no "none". When I try to continue the aboce text appears in red.

Yea. I've tried it on the laptop as well. Searching around on google, people as saying it can be done with a redeem code. Usually you get some free with magazines etc that give you a free song to download or something like that, thats why I was looking for one :)

The trick is to click on Payment Card/Type, it then gives you the option of none.

come to think of it ya might have to scroll down a small bit to see 'none' in the drop down menu

If you know anybody who hasn't updated iTunes since 10 (so 9 and previous) would be able to do it the same way as on an iDevice. I done it for a few people but then I got an iPhone 4 and had to upgrade iTunes :(

If you're having trouble doing this and a parent/partner/good friend has a cc, you could see if they'd let you use there details to create an account. Then once it's created you can 100% definitely easily remove them by changing payment option to none.

Just tried it myself out of curiosity. First by selecting a paid app and creating new account it only gave me the option for using a credit card. Tried again by selecting a free app and got the option for none. Definitely works.
