Hey, just wondering what the accomm situation is like for trinity? would there be any hope of me getting campus accommodation at this stage, hoping the fact the LC results havent been released yet will work in my favour! Also what are the names of the student accommodations in the area, I really am clueless? Doesnt have to be campus necessarily, just any have decent student halls place where i can lay my head during the year! All help greatly appreciated!!:D

First years can't get campus accomodation, unless you've got very valid medical reasons or something like that.

First years generally stay in Trinity Halls. It's 15 mins away by bus, which goes every 10 mins, and about a 45 min walk away. It's a great way to make friends, since everyone else there will be in the same situation as you.
    :)

Of course that goes out the window if you end up living with a crowd of ***** :D

    Happened to me! :p

Whatever you do, no matter how cheap is, I would absolutely recommend against moving into the Forge student accommodation on Railyway Street. I could go on for ages with reasons why!

Well Id be goin in as a postgrad rather than a first year if that makes any bit of difference?? Im guessing youd have to finid yourself a house to be any way in walking distance of the college?

Oh right being a postgrad is a different story. I'd imagine you'd be able to get campus accomodation.

If you want to apply for campus, go here http://www.tcd.ie/accommodation/StudentsandStaff/Students/Campus/

Yeah, it's usually easier for postgrads to get on campus accommodation. Either way, where I live I can bus it or cycle in in 30 minutes, so walking distance isn't a must.

Postgrads Live in halls as well. Very rarely do they get a place on campus. These rooms are reserved mainly for Schols, 3rd & 4th years, Society Presidents, SCR and those with Valid Medical reasons.

Edit: Applications for On campus Accommodation finished about march, Only applications for Trinity halls are being accepted about the middle of August.
