I found an article that made me smile in the nerdgasm kind of way :) I found it through twitter. Sigh. Yes. I'm one of Those. What can I say. I get to talk to people in all walks of life and stations that I normally wouldn't! I had a *chat* with Neil Gaiman, for God's sake (although he's on my enemy list now grrr).

HOWEVER and anyways, here's the article I found.

I know, I know, it's not the full LGBT and it's odd that they're leaving the T out.

I'm just glad because it might raise visibility for the B people.

The real question is though ... just how gay can Batman get?? :D

With the 'issues' at Comic con DC are struggling to try and grow their markets and this is a way of trying to do that. I remain sceptical of 'Gay' comic book chars, they usually get a lot of focus and then when the novelty wears of the mean pretty horrible ends or else get dropped when they reboot the universe.

As for how 'Gay' Batman may be Midnighter is based on the Batman template.

Hey, not a comic book fan, but we could always do our own. If only I could improve my artistic skills.

Currently in the process of drawing a medieval axe wielding dwarf (about 2 hours work and far more to do), but if anyone has any character ideas, that would be fun :P

Well, there's Doom Patrol, which had a trans superhero, and was written by trans woman Rachel Pollack. ;) So there's the T representation in DC for you. I've not yet read Doom Patrol though, but it's been on the agenda for a while now. Just working through Y: The Last Man now.

Tank Girl did more than DC can ever hope to do really :D

Gay characters featured and were treated the same as straight characters, which is in my opinion really the best way to go about things.
