He Needed to do something. I really think he can get it back if he gets his head together

Hope this is the kick up the back side he need's.

I still think the brother-in-law needs to take a hike as well.

I think a break from bob rottella wouldn't do him any harm aswell.

Sounds like it was traumatic for both parties. Must have been tough for Paidi to sever ties with the man who brought him from journeyman pro to multiple major winner. Unfortunately, he was going backwards these last few years and needed a change. Needless meddling with his swing that ultimately left him bewildered and confused.

Hopefully this is the start of a new era for him. Any thoughts on who he might work with now - Leadbetter, Harmon, Cowen? I'd love to see him do some work with Pelz. He worked wonders with Mickelson. Both are ultra aggressive players with brilliant short games. Pelz works with Mickelson on strategy, preparation, the mental side of the game etc.

Will be interesting to see if this is the last of the changes and whether he also decides to change caddy

Not sure if Rotella is the problem to be honest. Look what he did with Clarke during Open week. His thing seems to be about keeping it simple, staying positive, not getting too technical on the course etc. Like most of us, Paidi knows he needs to do this but he forgets it when he is on the course. If he could just get Rotella to caddy for him

paddy seems to have alot going on in his head at the minute, a break from bob t and bob r may be the way to go i think. You can be your own best doctor at golf when thing are going pear shaped. If he can get the putting going again the rest will fall into place i think and i don't see bob r being much help at putting as all you need to do is try make every putt.

He had to try something and a fresh voice will help. The last 2 years have been disheartening. He's a good guy and you want to believe him when he says things are in good shape but the results don't lie. To finish 107th in a weak Irish Open field shows how far hs has fallen.

No coach , no head coach. Just play for a while. Don't care what people say , he could break par that way. Wonder if anybody does that? . Wouldn't say so.

I think Butch Harmon has to get the majority of the credit for Mickelson's game, he has done the majority of the work that was needed with his swing. Pelz is only short game. I know it's an important part of the game but Mickelson always had one of the best short games.

I'd love to see Paddy to go Butch. He'd give him the kick in the hole that he needs as well imo.

I was reading yesterday that Harrington wanted to change his swing again and Bob Torrance didn't agree because he was reaching 40yrs of age. Harrgington has do something now before becomes the forgotten man of Golf and slips way off the rankings.

Was following Harrington for a while at the Irish Open. He was ridiculously slow...analysing every shot to death and backing off almost every shot 2 or 3 times. He looked like a bundle of nerves and Ronan Flood wasn't helping the situation, telling people to put away cameras when there were none to be seen. I think it's no harm to give Torrance a break as it should do him good to hear someone else's opinions but it was pretty obvious to a lot of people in Killarney that his mental approach is not right. Let's hope things start to improve for him soon as he has the game and the experience to win more tournaments and maybe even another major or two. Good luck to him.

Would like to see him get rid of Flood at this stage.

Would also just like to see him show up at his next event and go out and play. This idea of missing a cut and still being on the range 24/7 over the weekend is nuts. Surely a break away from intense practice and to just play could help.

Was also very surprised how he announced it to the media on the Friday evening.

Doesn't sound good for PH at the moment. I remember '09 he played really bad for most of the season(when making swing changes) and then really came to life at Firestone and had a fantastic end to the season. Just don't see that happening now. Maybe a break after the PGA would be a good idea. Really hope he turns it around.

Saw him doing the same. Took almost 20 practice swishes in the rough. Backed off 3 times and advanced the ball 20 yards. Very sad to see.
