Hey, I have a friend who did the level 5 and then level 6 veterinary nursing in St Johns, She was offered a job in a veterinary practice but i imagine her pay wouldnt be great, I would urge you to progress to an institute of technology with your FETAC qualification.
You would have much higher chance of getting a job with a higher qualification from an IT
For example I have just completed a fetac level 5 in childcare but obviously if another person with a fetac level 6 in childcare applies for the same job as me, she is going to get it as she has a higher/better qualification.

Speak with a career counselor, there is one at st johns, speak to her when you start your course and ask what is the best route for you to take to achieve what you want.
Perhaps you should email or phone St Johns and ask them to be sure if you would be hired as a veterinary nurse upon your completion of the course.

    Good luck!

Ps i have gotten the email for the course coordiator from the st johns website, here it is abush@stjohnscollege.ie
