    Hi lads,
New to the sport. I do a bit of ratting with the terrier (JRT). Mainly in autumn at harvest time. Recently made redundant, so I have more time on my hands. Looking to do a bit of foxhunting etc with terrier?
    Any advice?
Anywhere wher I can dig out a few foxes?

I'm not really up to date. Is there a season when I can dig them out, or can I dig all year round? I don't want to do anything illegal.
As well I was thinking about snaring a few foxs and then baiting them to the dog. I live in a housing estate and there's loads of foxes around. I was thinking if I left food out at night I could easily snare a few....

i'm no legal expert but i'd say you could end up with the ispca on your door step if you were caught doing that

    Why?
Is it illegal to trap foxes?
Is it illegal to set dogs on them?
    Are they not vermin?

Am I the only one here to smell a troll.

I would say the only thing being bated here is us.

Don't think there is any as law to stop you digging foxes at any time of the year , but most terrier men would only start hunting/digging from late September and then finish up in March. From April to August theres a lot of cubs around ..... Also I wouldn't recommend setting snares near a housing estate, as you could well end up with a snared dog and an angry owner rather than your intended quarry.......
