Over the passed few years i have had 3 android phones from Meteor. 2 HTC Desires and one Desire HD. Not one of them was locked to Meteor.

The screen on the Wildfire is dire. You could do much better than get a Wildfire.

The original Wildfire is a tricky one to judge. Although it is a nice phone in terms of the os and form-factor, that screen feels so out of place on it (Because its so shíte), it makes it feel like some kind of Chinese knock-off or something. The Galaxy Apollo mentioned above would be a better buy IMHO, given the price difference. I cant imagine being able to get a better new phone for less than 100€ than that, ignoring the ZTE Blade, if thats going or less than 100€ at this stage..

BTW, for a second there i was looking forward to a nice bargain desire.. :(

I had a Desire and loved it but people should be aware that the low internal memory is a serious limitation to using these phones. I could only improve mine by rooting and putting on a custom Rom. Even then and with using A2SD+, it still had issues.

Edited the title from "Desire", bit of a difference!

The screen is truely appalling, it honestly reminds me of an old 3310 screen where I chould see the pixels. It's also too small. I was put off buying an Android phone because the OS looks so bad on a small screen.

I know it has been suggested time and again for months on boards when anyone asks for suggestions on any phone:rolleyes:, but..... The LG Optimus 7 is available for €180 from Amazon.

What puts me off most new phone is they all use only qwerty. The wildfire has the option for alphanumeric keypad. Cannot use qwerty on a mobile.

You can install alphanumeric keyboards on any Android phone...

That aside, the only reason it's available preinstalled on the Wildfire is because the screen is so small and lo-res that a qwerty keyboard just wouldn't work.

I was thinking of getting the mini pro for 80 after cashback. Better than get the wildfire do yous think?
