Anyone ordered from Light in the Box??

Has anyone ordered any dresses from Light in the Box?
I am in love with this dress, am attending a wedding on 26th August and would love it

I'm very cagey about ordering something made to measure which I can't return if it doesn't fit right if my measurements are off, and I'm only 5 foot so if the length is standard it could be alot below my knee which I dont want.
A quick google of the site gives very mixed reviews so I don't know what to think!!!

Anyone have any experience with this site??

I've heard plenty of stories about dresses arriving from Light in the Box that were horrible or very badly made. On the other hand, I've heard stories from people who got great dresses from the site. You need to read the reviews before you order. Even then you are taking a risk. Weigh up whether the dress is worth taking that risk or not.

Three of my friends have gotten dresses on this site and were delighted with them!! On the back of seeing how amazing their dresses were (in fit, looks anmd delivery time) I wouldn't hesitate in buying one from the site!:D

Thanks for the replies, I read loads of reviews and they were pretty much 50:50 good to bad but the reviews for this particular dress were all good so I took the plunge and ordered it yesterday!! I think it's worth the risk, fingers crossed

waterfordgirl do you know if your friends had to pay a customs charge on their dresses when they arrived? I'm hoping if I have to it won't be a huge amount but I don't know how to find out for definite

I didn't order from light in the box but a very similar company, based in China, and I had excellent service. I got a made to measure full length dress for a ball for €50, delivery included in that. A dressmaker friend of mine said she had never seen a dress as well made, she spent 2 days studying it to see how they had made it, we were very impressed with it. Most of those businesses offer a very good service, hopefully your dress will be fab

And I didn't have to pay a customs charge on it.

oh thanks for that Acoshla, hearing that has put me a bit more at ease!! can't wait to get the dress, i'll post back what it's like in case others are wondering about the site etc..

I got my 4 bridesmaids dresses from them. They are extremely well made, even my alterations lady couldnt believe it.
I did pay customs on them, about €30. But I've heard of people who were only charged like €12. So I don't know how they work it out, but you will most probably be charged customs alright.

that's not a bad amount to be charged I wouldn't mind that at all

Two of the three dresses I spoke about were ordered together (for my housemate and her sister) so they were both delivered together and my housemate never mentioned getting charged customs on them so I'd say unless you're buying a fairly expensive dress you should be fine!

Just wanted to give an update, the dress was ordered on August 1st and arrived on the August 11th, customs charge was 44 euro, the dress is fabulous, so well made and just as nice as the picture.

I had to get it taken in slightly but that's because I left a quarter of an inch all round on the measurements I gave as I thought it would be easier to take in than let out.

So from this experience I would definitely order from the site again
