Probably a stupid one but never mind

If I bought a return ticket from Sydney Parade to Tara St., could I use the return journey in two stages, i.e. go from Tara to Lansdowne Road and then Lansdowne to Sydney later on?

I think a break of journey is not allowed in the Dublin or Cork suburban zones (though as far as I know it is on mainline journeys).

You can't officially, the turnstiles won't let you out. But if you say it to the person supervising the turnstiles I'm sure (s)he'd let you out. Not too sure about getting back in again to finish the journey tho.

Small correction; there's be no problems getting out. When I was buying my weekly ticket it, it would be from southside into Connolly though I usually got out at Grand Canal or Lansdowne.

But you're right that getting back in would be the issue.

I thought it sounded a bit crazy that you couldn't get out. Stuck on the DART with no means of escape
