There always seemed to be something that "everybody is doing"..short lived but hugely popular.

    I'll start the ball rolling!

My weird 90s generation became totally infatuated with Pokémon, and to a very much lesser extent, Digimon.

Cards, video games, the TV show, movies, it was THE thing.

The amount of AA batteries my twelve year old self went through on that game, Energiser must have made more out of the craze than Nintendo did.

I seem to remember a yo-yo craze in our school after one of the sweet companies had some promotion. There were two versions, Skittles (the more common one) and something else (Opal Fruits maybe?).

    Light up Yo-Yo's
    yoyo_15.jpg
(if they ever accidentally hit the floor during use they would break and split in two)
Got these down the market during late 80's and earlier they would be brought back
as presents by the Grandparents that went on Holiday to the Cannery islands.

Tamagotchis! How could I have forgot those! I seem to remember a Furby craze as well, especially my sisters' ones being pushed to various levels of endurance.

Line dancing swept the country and Garth Brooks was one of the most successful musicians in the world

There were sessions in every parish hall and even roving instructors who came around and taught.
Including a young lad from Castleknock, Dublin who went on to bigger and better things

But then suddenly line dancing disappeared with a trace

I don't know about you guys but I feel these were maybe not as epidemic as previous posts, but nearly everybody I knew my age when I was around 8 or 9 had them.

And I'm sure you could throw Sonic The Hedgehog in as a craze!
