Lost Free Travel Pass, need it badly?

I lost my free travel pass either last night or this morning and am panicing heavily. I basically need it for this friday and given how slow sligo are(they also managed to lose my first form) there's no way I'm going to get it in time. I can't afford the crazy train prices up to dublin and get ill on bus journeys.

I went to the Garda Station and they told me I just needed to get a form from the bus station and bring it back to them, and I'd have it quickly, but they said no at the Bus Station, I have to go to Sligo with it.

I think it's pretty silly, people with mental disabilities like autism are going to lose these pretty easily and panic when they do so. There should be a better system.

Is there any way I can qualify for free travel without the pass? Some kind of temporary pass?

I really cannot afford to travel otherwise.

    Talk to Sligo ASAP.

You could try booking a cheap fare now with Irish Rail. I don't know where you are from, but you can do Sligo-Dublin Connolly for €11.50 each way next Friday, but you would need to book soon.

You lost your Free Travel, but its the Departments fault? Heres the correct form. You need to get it signed by a Guard. The quicker you send it the quicker you'll get it back. Maybe 10 days. Pretty patronising off you your comments about people living with mental illness. Autistics in particular rarely lose anything.

I have no idea where you heard autistics rarely lose anything, but I think you're just applying a different stereotype. We're not all savants and some of us are just plain clumsy and awkward.

A lot of people just refuse to relax traditional models of personal responsibility for those who don't, for whatever reason, pay attention to the same things as others.

Unfortunately 10 days is too long for me.

No need to play the disabled card. Everyone loses things occasionally. I lost my glasses a few weeks back and had no one to blame buy myself.

If you can't afford the train journey and get ill taking the bus.. perhaps your GP could prescribe something for travel sickness? (Assuming you didn't lose your medical card too)

... no I didn't lose my medical card.

I like how I get blasted for being patronising to disabled people, but apparently it's okay when you do it directly at them.
