buying a vehicle without tax

Please advise. I viewed a vehicle for sale that has not been taxed since Feb 2010 . Will I be charged for the outstanding tax after the change of the ownership? And also the vehicle history at mywheels.ie showed that the colour was changed (I could see that the vehicle was repainted, but the colour is still the same as in the report). The report is rated as low because of these two points. How bad does it look? Thank you in advance for help.

you will only have to pay the tax from the first of the month in which you bought it.

If the chassis number stamped on the car is correct, I wouldnt worry about the colour unless its a high value car where the resale price may be affected by this.
