Yellow Fever Vacination - Zanzibar

    Anybody know where I can find out for certain if a yellow fever vacination cert is required for Zanzibar -- different websites are saying yes & no!!!

    The varying information on travel websites is because of that in some cases officially you don't need it but unofficially you'll be stopped at the border with out it because a "local" decision has been made that it is needed. This is often not based on any medical risk and is more a political issue and is usually to do with the country you are flying in from.


    http://www.masta-travel-health.com/ and http://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/home.aspx are the best travel websites out there and are the ones used by travel health clinics - although based in the UK the travel health advice is the same as for travelling from here.

    and http://www.traveldoctor.co.uk/ is also a very good site.

    hi cp,
    not long back from there and we were asked for the yellow fever cert at immigration. we also flew into kiliminjaro where we were asked for it too. think they make you get it there and then if you don't have the cert, not sure how much you're charged so i'd get it here if i were you

    only 2 weeks ago. its a serious crack down on it so don't chance it.
