PC for photography- €1000 budget

    My mate who is a professional photographer asked me to help build a PC for photo processing. He will be mainly using Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3. He also might be interested in playing a few games on it.

    I don't know whether these applications uses hyperthreading or not and I also heard a rumour that they work better with Nvidia GPU's, is this true?

    I'm thinking of a 2500K/2600K with either a 560ti or 6950 and at least 16gb ram and a 64gb SSD & 2TB HDD.
