Looking good alright, the chorus of 'Days Are Forgotten' has been in my head since I first listened to it.

'Green Fairy' from the London Boulevard soundtrack is another song that could be on the album as well, not fully sure.

    It's a great song indeed.

    The tracklisting for 'Velociraptor! is:

'Let's Roll Just Like We Used To'
    'Days Are Forgotten'
    'Goodbye Kiss'
    'La Fée Verte'
    'Velociraptor!'
'Acid Turkish Bath (Shelter From The Storm)'
    'I Hear Voices'
    'Re-wired'
    'Man Of Simple Pleasures'
    'Switchblade Smiles'
    'Neon Noon'

On first listen it's a very strong album. A bit mellow in parts but I find the melodies come through a lot more here than they did on West Ryder..... Early highlights for me are 'Goodbye Kiss', as beautiful songs go it may be the best they've done of that type. My favourite so far is definitely 'I Hear Voices'. the beat is hypnotic and the chorus catchy as hell. Strangely I don't like 'Velociraptor' as much as I thought i would after I heard the live version, but it's still a very decent song. 'Man Of Simple Pleasures' is quite a good track too.

Look forward to letting the album settle in after a good few listens.

really really good album and better than there previous triumph west ryder. although cheesy, goodbye kiss is a wonderful song wouldnt be suiprised if they realeased it as a single. veliciraptor would probaly be the weakest song on the album but its a outstanding album and imo does not have one filler. i love neon noon and re wired but my favorite has to be i hear voices and the quite brillant le fee verte

Personally speaking I think Kasabian is one of those bands that have evolved and grown stronger and better with every passing album. I didn't care much for the first one, above average I suppose. Really liked Empire and loved the last album. On first listen, this album is fantastic.

Can't wait to see them live at some point :P

There debut album above average I'm shocked by that. In my view there debut album is still arguably there best work yet and if anything empire would be there weakest album. I agree what you say they have evolved brillantly and none of there albums Sound the same. It's a toss up between kasabian and muse for best live band IMO.

Fair play to them for providing some pins in a little bag in the CD/DVD box to hang up the poster that comes with it.

'Tis the little things in life that are so good!!

5 songs into the album atm and liking it a lot. See they changed the name of Green Fairy into the French for it, odd!:D

Must get the does the DVD from the point come with the Deluxe edition?

The album with the dvd is €17, its worth it, the concert is a good watch, they are quality live. Cant wait to see them in a couple of months.

I like velociraptor, as its been said, it is quite mellow, but I dont think thats really a bad thing. Man with simple pleasures, i hear voices and goodbye kiss, and the ones that i loved from first listen. Switch blade smiles and velociraptor will be good live.

Man With Simple Pleasures is my favourite track off the album, kind of wish there were more heavier tracks to the album - can't see myself going back to this as much as the previous album.

    Still good though

I think the album is great and pretty original in the age of so many similar bands.

The songs are somewhat all over the place and the album doesn't seem to have the same single mindedness as the last one, which I enjoyed, but that's a tiny criticism.

What I like about kasabian is that they never sound the same but yet it doesn't sound gimmicky.

Great stuff.......enjoying the new opeth Album along with this.

I have no link to this so might not be true but a friend told me that
Kasabian will perform on the Brendan O Connor Show this Saturday night on RTE1.

    Does anyone know for sure??

Great album based on my listens so far. Very hard to properly label their music, which is a compliment to the lads I suppose.

They are getting better and better.

finally got my hands on it. I love it. Like others have said its kinda hard to pigeon hole them into a genre and ther not just churning out the same stadium rock sounds.
    well done kasabian

    whats every1s favorite?
on 1st listen the stand out track was probably days are forgotten but im sure that will change.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35 Nation 98

I reckon its superior to West Ryder although theres a lack of proper 'single' material on it so it probably wont do aswell with the masses.

Man With Simple Pleasures, I hear Voices, Switchblade (obviously) and Neon Noon are early favourites.

i think re - wired is my favorite and could be there most successful hit if they were to release it as a single.

i dig i hear voices its different and cool. i love le fee verte and man of simple pleasures is the strongest track by kasabian to show tom's vocal skills and imo the best song he sings.

quality record and to think some people label this band lad rock

I think this is their strongest album so far. Probably won't be as commercially successful as west ryder because it doesn't have the 'tunes' of that album but this one is a stronger body of work. La fee verte and man of simple pleasures stand outs for me. Can't wait to hear the new songs live

Dowloaded it ...listened to it ... listened to it again .... listened to it again .... pressed the down button on the window in the car, pressed eject on the CD player, frisbee'd the disc out the window ...

    .... absolute snorefest.

I find this will a lot of Kasabian stuff. Sounds great with the first couple of listens. But even the second listen it seems boring and way to familiar.

Just got the album today, first time I bought an album in about ten years :D but had to buy it for the dvdofthe 02 in Dublin.

Now as for the album I must say i think its great so far, starts of slow and just keeps getting better and better. Personally I think there the best band around.

It's good but its no killer. About 5/6 good songs on it. Rest is a bit 'meh'

Loving it, the mellow feelings on all the songs made my bus trip to town much more relaxing.

I'd agree with that. But I have to say I seen them on Jools Holland the other night and I was very impressed. They played the new single (I think its the new single anyway, I've heard it a few times now, and its decent) and they also played Velociraptor, which I thought kicked ass! Gonna download it and give it a shot an anyway

On my 9th (I think) listen, lovely it more after every listen. Can't wait to get the DVD of the 2009 O2 gig, immense gig, still a debate if it was better than Slane that year.

Totally an underrated band. Absolutely loving Neon Noon atm, I think it's a cracking tune.

Who's going to the gig @ the o2 on 25/11? Debating whether to get a ticket, watching Kasabian sitting down would be a tad ****ed up. Can't get standing ticket.

Really cool video, I like the Noel Fielding cameo in it. Good to see a band not take themselves too seriously while still putting out quality music.
