    hi
got a small damage/scratch on the left passenger door while exiting from the car park.
i went to a local crash repair and he said the rubber on the 2 doors to be changed as they have marks on it.
the door dent to be removed and painted.
    all this costing 600euros.
he suggested that if i go with insurance claim then its better to get the door replaced.
i am on my 2nd year of insurance. so one year of no claim bonus.
i have the no claims bonus protection which covers 3 claims for 2 years totalling 10keuros.

should i pay 600euros from my pocket or should i claim insurance and get it fixed?
    pls suggest

Go get more quotes. the quote is very high to repair scrapes and repaint 2 doors

What is your excess? And can you afford to have your policy loaded next year? I'd go with paying myself......

    excess is 200.
the garage guy did say that if insurance is covering its better to replace the door and total estimate could be 1200euros.

Yeah there's no way in hell i'd be claiming for anything like that, get a few quotes from a few different places and sort it yourself.

he is trying to rob you!! get more estimates. someone honest should be able to do for between 180-300, if its as small as you make out. Definitely pay yourself, insurance will ride your ass like zorro if you put in any claim!!
