Changing a Headlamp Bulb in a Micra K11

    Hi Folks,

I'm sorry if something like this has been asked before and I also apologize if it's a really really simple thing to do. Our Micra is the first car we've ever had so we're still getting used to all the things that come with owning a car. I'm willing to learn how to maintain the car properly but I'm still at the start of it all.

So my question is this. One of the low beam bulbs has gone and I've bought another from a shop. Is it relatively easy to replace the bulb on a Micra K11? I hear on some cars such as the last Megane that it can be a lot of hassle to replace. Also do I need any special tools such as a wrench or would I be fine with a screwdriver?

From what I remember its a case of popping your hand in, twist and pull out and your sorted. If you want to maintain your micra yourself I suggest you invest in a Haynes manual :)

Thanks for that. We had the manual before we had the car! I just haven't had a look at it yet as I only noticed late last night that the bulb was gone.

The K11 is about as simple as they get.

Main think to check is that you have the bulb sitting flush when its in.

Thanks Doc, that's certainly encouraging news! Good for me as she's somewhat disappointed with my DIY/general repair skills. So perhaps the K11 will help repair a somewhat tarnished image!

Arrgh. The terminal is unplugged, the rubber cover is off but the fecking spring clip thing is difficult. What way is that supposed to come out?

Got it there now. I was pushing out on the clip rather than down. It's now working. Yay!
