    http://www.digitalspy.ie/ustv/news/a332276/patricia-clarkson-lands-parks-and-recreation-role.html

Patricia Clarkson has signed up for a recurring role on NBC's Parks and Recreation.
The Shutter Island star will play Tammy 1, the ex-wife of Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) in the sitcom's upcoming fourth season.
The character has been frequently referenced on the series, but has never been seen in full. Clarkson will make her debut in the show's fourth season premiere.
The actress has previously appeared in films 1987's The Untouchables, 1995's Jumanji, 1999's The Green Mile and last year's Easy A.
Her past television credits include a regular role in the first season of ABC drama Murder One and recurring appearances on Frasier and Six Feet Under.
Nick Offerman previously joked that he and his co-star Megan Mullally had begun a campaign to cast Oprah Winfrey as Tammy 1.
Parks and Recreation will return to NBC on September 22.

    Great casting choice

I think this may have been my favourite of the returning sitcoms I watch.

Good solid opener. Looking forward to a good season.

Fantastic episode. Ron was hilarious and 7twenty productions was literally hilarious.
Jello shot is the man, I loved the printing press and the music button.

Between this and the West Wing, Rob Lowe is a fantastic actor. Even though the characters are similar, he makes this one so much better...literally the best ex-Aaron Sorkin alumnus in this series.

The trial of Leslie Knope was pretty good. I'm glad they don't beat you over the head with the romance plot, even if it is a bit kitschy, but the strong supporting cast make up for it big time. Ron Swanson's reaction to Google Earth was the stand out part.

Definitely the best comedy hour of the week along with Community.

Literally just watched the first 3 and a half seasons in the past 2 weeks... Really annoyed I haven't been following this show from the beginning, but very glad I discovered it... Think the entire cast are fantastic, but Nick Offerman as Ron and Chris Pratt as Andy are the stand-outs for me...

The only person I'm still finding it hard to warm to is Rob Lowe / Chris... he has a couple of good lines but his uber-fitness happy-go-lucky attitude just bores me.

Loved the return of Jean Ralphio last week!

I started watching this a few weeks ago, and now I'm just about halfway through the already aired episodes of season 4. Seriously love this show so much, all the characters are brilliant <3

When is the next episode airing in the states?

There are a few more episodes left in season 4, starting next week.

What did everyone think of episode 11? Chris was so funny telling Ben how making calzones and claymation videos meant he was depressed :p I literally loved it.

I wish they'd show a bit more stuff in the office though. Leslie running for city council is a good story arc, but I feel it's kinda making the show move away from its roots too much.

Thought the new episode was great. The whole walk between the red carpet and the stage on the ice had me in stitches...

Season 4 - it's time they started having real ark's with real consequences. The long-form format of american comedies can become very stale if its just the same joke for 4 20-episode seasons.

Having said that it's definitely a risky gesture, changing the dynamic and the flow of the show so dramatically. I'm going to be interested to see how it pans out - if only to see if they can find something for Rashida Jones to actually do to warrant her billing on this show!

Yeah, they've never quite worked out Rashidas role in the show but I think she's kind of restricted in being the "straight man".

Is Anne still a nurse or did she quit to become a full-time office squatter?

I thought that episode 11 was great. Glad Parks & Rec is back!

She's the head of the Public Health department now. I think she had the interview in the episode where Tom held the Snakejuice party.

Yep, season 3 episode 13 "The Fight"; Ann becomes Health Department Public Relations Director of Pawnee.

Episode 12 was great - I absolutely love Paul Rudd!

Coming from me, that's the greatest comedy related compliment I could give...

Parks & Rec is certainly the most consistent comedy US TV right now..

.. patchy first season, but gold since!

Paul Rudd was great this week... he'll be back for three more episodes too.

    Bobby Newport...

    /deep voice

Loved it! Ron as deputy city manager?? Don't know if I could see that happening! And I liked the return of Kyle, and Andy and April's subplot (they're probably my favourite characters).

    Champion was awesome too!

I would lol if they did that. Leslie would actually have a stroke. It's obvious she will win though.

Is it pretty definite that there will be another season?

Pretty sub-standard episode this week; April was the best part really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 460 ✭✭KeanSeenan

I enjoyed Ron, as usual. "Son, people can see you!".

Enjoyed the episode but I'm feeling a bit disappointed with what they've done to April and Andy. They used to be sweet in their own way but now they just feel obnoxious, mean and cartoonishly stupid (which was alwas more an andy feature than an april one for me). It's gotten out of hand I fear.

I did lol at anne failing at bowling. she's like the Gill of the show.

I laughed so hard at that line... Offerman's timing is excellent - such a simple line, but he did it so much justice...

Totally agree - for me Swanson is the funniest character in the show (it helps that he has relatively limited exposure).

The sub-plot about Tom and Ron bowling was just epic :)

Tom and Anne!!  :pac:

That was a good episode I thought. How cute is Tom!! He's like a wickle hamster awwwww <3333 I love how many callbacks are in this show too, almost on a level with Community/AD for them.

Ah FFS, so BBC Four have dropped the ball to allow Dave steal in? That's a disgrace. Its one thing to lose Mad Men to Sky but that's just idiotic.
