Replacement ink cartridge problem HP C3180

Just wondering if anyone has a fix for this, I ordered a pair of replacement cartridges for the HP Photosmart C3180 printer from ebay but the printer keeps telling me they aren't compatible. I've used off brand cartridges before with no problem but is it just that these aren't going to work?

To be honest the printer's been nothing but trouble and I'm thinking of picking up a cheap replacement rather than buying the HP branded ink for the one I have.

Would any of these be better in terms of how quickly ink is used up/compatibility with cheapo cartridges?

Worked out the problem... HP region locks their cartridges and I ordered mine from the US. I'm not sure if its my fault for not realising that or not, it's a pretty bizarre business practice.

Anyway in case anyone else ever has the problem, there you go.

I wonder if you downloaded the US driver from the HP website would those cartridges work ?

No you have to contact HP directly for a code, and from what I've read on their site the cartridges need to be HP branded. Mine are just generic replacements. Thanks for the tip anyway, I assumed it would be that simple myself :)
