Do you guys miss the days of the talk show segments like Piper's Pit, Highlight Reel, Cutting Edge, Peep Show, Carlito's Cabana or MVP Lounge?

Some excellent feuds began on these segments.

I think Raw or Smackdown or both could do with a talk show segment section again and I think the main name that jumps out to host is Ryder
and now HHH has named him as Teddy's assistant on SD this week he is on both shows
even though I wouldnt object to the Peep Show returning :)

Miz or Punk would also be good hosts

TNA should really have Bruce Pritchard reprise Brother Love.

"Brother Brother Devon I loooooooove you"

God I miss the Highlight Reel. I think the first edition featured Goldberg if I'm not mistaken and it had the debut of Cena on Raw, and the Jericho heel turn against HBK, AND the ridiculously expensive Jeritron 5000!

Sh*t always went down on the Funeral Parlour. Loved it.

Zack Ryder is an obvious suggestion for a talk show segment given it comes with a ready made name and everything. Basically let him do on TV what he has been doing online.

Ah yeah that's going back a while now. Around the same time as 'The Barber Shop' where Shawn Michaels turned heel on Jannetty.

As for the recent talk-shows, i hated the MVP lounge and loved the Highlight Reel. I also loved William Regal's (he may have been Steven back then) British etiquette skits where he would teach manners and literature, highly entertaining!

The interview segments don't work as well anymore for several reasons.

TV Shows were shorter back in the 80's so an avenue to introduce new reasons to set up new feuds was vital, especially when it came to breaking new wrestlers. Todays shows are two hours long and weekly so with the extra airtime to work with it's easier to expose new angles and works but it's harder to make impacting segments as a result. One great example of this is Pipers Pit when Andre ripped off Hogans Crucifix necklace. Back then it was jaw dropping TV as you rarely saw the big names at the one time. Today, we see the big names face to face almost weekly so it's no big deal anymore no matter what they say or do.

Also, wrestler gimmicks and characters are far more complex than in the 80's as a result so it's easier to elevate or bring two guys together to work a series. There are any amount of reasons to set up most wrestlers today as fans are wired and the shows allow you time to work a story

Lastly and most critically, shows in the past were not used to get an individual over as much as todays creations. Okay, you need a reason to react to the host but nowadays it seems less so about the guests and what they are up to and it's more about the interviewee and getting them over.

How Edge and Jericho have hosted memorable talk show segments in recent years?

Thaught they were both awful. Although always hated Edge & thaught he was very over-rated.
