    Hi guys!

Just a quick notice to let you all know that there is now a dedicated forum in Ireland for DJ's and producers.. It caters for all types of DJ playing all types of music as well as Radio DJ's etc... We also have some producers on board and are looking to get venues to sign up and traders who will give a percentage discount to members in the near future!

Its in the early stages having only been launched early this week, But if we can make it take off it can prove to be a very useful resource to DJ's in Ireland. It can help you promote yourself and your music, Meet new people with similar interests, Find work through venues and other DJ's, Get free advice from other DJ's who have done what your trying to do, Get to know your hardware and software better. Basically it can help you do whatever you want it to do, as there is little to no limitation on what you can post!

Feel free to take a look around over there and sign up, You can find all the information including a registration link here.

    Thank you,
Feel free to email us if there is any queries! info@djforum.ie

Good luck with it Tom. I tried a few years back to do something similar (and failed) but I hope it kicks off for you...

Facebook has been a vital element in spreading the word so far! A resource you probably didn't have when you tried.. Hopefully I can make it work, Cause it would be so handy if it did! Going well so far we have over 100 registered members in just afew days!

Very True. Could work well if you publicise with all the other groups etc. Actually ages ago I started this: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=38999066592 - but never did anything with it. Let me know and I'll sign it over to you. Only 144 members - nothing huge - but better than nothing.

What you'll have to work out is what Audience you want. I'm not sure what you are aiming for but be careful the place does not fill up with teenage trance fans or middle aged mobile disco lads. It would be very difficult to get 'everyone' to mix there - forums usually stick to more of a niche.

Thanks for the offer! Made a page the other day and got near 300 friends on it all DJ's so i'm good for now, Working with another lad running the "All the DJ's" page on facebook with 1500 members on it. I know what you mean about the wrong sort of people joining! I wanted to keep it to DJ's, I welcome beginners coming in, But don't want young lads just into the music scene showing up. As for the middle aged mobile guys they are not really the exact market I was aiming for, But afew seem to be showing already so they are welcome! I'm mainly looking for club DJs and pre-club bar DJ's, looking to maybe break into the radio segment too as alot of guys are interested in that! We will soon see how it fares out! Responded to your PM btw..

I think this is a fantastic idea, as a newbie to the world of dj'ing I can see how this would benefit lots of people!

    Well done

Great idea. Best of luck with it!

All the best with it. Really has the potential to be a great community, but don't do what others have done and boost numbers with friends and joe public clubbers, who aren't DJs / serious about the music and scene. Looks good to have 10,000 members, but if only 100 are serious DJ's then it takes away from the overall atmosphere.

All the best, I'll join later today.

Hi, Thanks! Yea, Thats why there has been a slow down with members, I'm trying to just have DJ's.. Would prefer to have 200 members who were practising DJ's and serious about it then 1000 members who are there to see what the scene is like.. Seems to be going good so far with DJ's signing up! facebook has been a huge help

So, where do you guys get your music?
Warez-bb.. not exactly legal but massive selection, then for stuff I can't get there its youtube etc!
do ya not find the sound quality ****e when ya rip the sound of youtube?
Yea, Sound quality aint great on youtube downloads.. I usually don't download less then 320kbps music but only use youtube in desperate cases when I can't get what I'm looking for anywhere else! Mainly for unrealised stuff that I would use it for.. And you can get decent(ish) quality stuff from youtube if you download the video and convert it yourself with a good converter..

lol, go tom, warezbb and a few youtube rips of unreleased tunes, big in the game.

Only seeing this now, Have had alot of **** going on.. Yes I admit that getting music from the sources quoted is not exactly what I should be doing but I don't think I need your sarcastic comment saying i'm "big in the game". I know I'm not a big fish in the Irish DJ scene nor do I claim to be anywhere! I don't want to have a community that look to me as a superior DJ, I just want to provide the platform for everyone to use.. I class myself as a beginner in the DJ circuit, After all, If you dug up some more stuff about me you would find out I'm only 19 and I'm still in college! But then you could also find out I've been DJ'in since I was 15 and I do regular work on radio, not to mention have built up a nice collection of equipment for my years! I don't claim to be "big in the game" so don't make me out to - thanks.

Sorry, but if you play out without paying for your tracks then you're a thieving lowlife. People like you are bottom-feeders. If you actually loved what you played, you'd happily pay for the music. Without the artists you'd be less than a nobody. And age is no excuse either.

He has a "nice collection of equipment though"...

Must be good in that case.

Sorry I ever doubted you tom!

No offence mate, but people like you who ruin what most of us have been trying to do for years, support the scenes and the music we like and buy it, chances are its only a 19 year old in his room making tunes....

How do you have 500+ followers? The few mixes I listened to of yours are terrible. Some low quality youtube song rips in the mixes, poor beatmatching, no key matching, transitions just randomly thrown in there with no regard for bars of music, clashing vocals. I could go on.

    bad bad bad

Had a quick listen. Not bad mate. Keep it up. However, I presume its all cut on Ableton and not mixed live?

The productions aren't performed live, but any of the mixes I can play live but I basically just record a weekly mix & post it to my social media websites for feedback & friends to listen to etc etc. Thanks for the feedback @ironclaw
