Swimming pools in Dublin

I'm possibly heading to Dublin next week (for the Dublin horse show).
I'm hoping to stay in or around UDC. I'd like to find a pool around either UCD or the RDS where I could go either early morning or in the evening, for preferably lane swimming. I don't know Dublin well and would be relying on public transport or walking to get there. I've tried googling it, but as I can't tell one end of Dublin to the other, it didn't help much.

Also, I know it's not swimming, but I asking on the off chance that someone would know if the UCD track is open for use and more importantly, would I able to go and use it without looking like a right twat? (have to run long distances, I'm a sprinter, so far it's a disaster :o )

Glenalbyn pool in stillorgan is the one that comes to mind, might be a bit of a walk though.

The track in ucd is open to the public, but the few times I've used it its pretty slippy on one of the corners. I'd often end up running on the grass around the playing fields on the other side of the campus.

If you are using public transport the Markievicz pool in Townsend street in the city center might be better. Take the number 2 or 3 bus both of which go near the pool. Or the 46a goes to D'olier st which is also close.
