Hi, Is it just a matter of istalling the drivers on my end and the client then searching in the directory for the printer? He is in the uk. Thanks:)

Are you on the same windows or apple network? Using a VPN?

You can use google cloudprint if you are using the same google account on both computers.

Need more information really.
