I went to the Education section on the Apple Store Website. It seems NUIG is no longer listed as an option. When you click on a different University, it directs you through that college's system to prove you actually attend the college. So I'm guessing NUIG will have to work with Apple to bring it back. People must of been abusing Apple's last system, where you could simply click on your College and it would take you straight to the Educational site. I assumed proof (student ID?) was needed though when you went to the check out though?

Ha, that's weird. Just a few weeks ago I got my new iMac through that system and all I had to do was click a box to swear I really was a student at NUIG.

It was available up until at least last week. And all the colleges in Ireland were listed. They must be cracking down on it so, seeing as no proof was necessary. Hopefully it will be back soon.

Just call and order, they'll give you discount then.

    Hey,

Just an FYI, the apple discount is now done through campus.ie/apple, where you verify that you are a student in order to get the full discount. It is done this way to avoid the abuse of the old system..

And there is a free app giveaway on there too.
