    Hey yo,

I've booked the Heuston-Cork train at 9pm tomorrow.

I actually need to get back earlier so can I just hop onto the 6 or 7 train without hassle? It was the same price... (40euro one way....................)

    Thanks

I think you have to go to the information desk and ask them to validate your ticket for the new train. They may charge you for it.

It's usually not much and I've been able to change before without paying anything extra (even when the later train was a higher price than what I booked). Only a couple of months ago! I wouldn't expect the latter though, I was genuinely surprised and had to double-check with the ticket seller. I know a general principle is not to argue about a good deal, but knowing Irish Rail you could arrive at your destination for them to say the ticket wasn't valid! I'm certainly fairly paranoid about it!

Go to the ticket desk and ask.

If they make grunting noises and throw it back there's no charge. That has been my experience.

Just make sure they endorse the ticket.
