Was over in the brother in laws in west Co. Dublin yesterday and he was receiving BBC Scotland,Channel 5 and the like for most of the day.The Mux he was getting it from said East Borders on it see attached pic.
The only mux I can find from around there on that frequency is Hawick which only puts out 32 watts on each Mux, how is it possible to receive it here?

That should have been Jedburgh and not Hawick.
His aerial is pointed at Divis but when he did a scan he could not pick up any of the Divis Muxs

Pretty impressive from a low powered relay. Cambret Hill can be picked up here in Moira (c 18 miles SW of Belfast) when weather conditions are suitable.

Yep, could be Cambrett Hill under lift conditions.

This transmitter's signal appears to have improved at this location (Jordanstown Co. Antrim) lately and it's now fairly stable (also getting the HD muultiplex.), for some odd reason (something to do with Black Hill's recent DSO maybe ?).

Under technical info. it's listed as East Borders. Channel No.s are 41,44, and 47 for the HD multiplex.

It also covers much of the Ards peninsula.

It's 2.8 Kw so it's not that low power.

Definitely sounds like Cambrett Hill as it's also horizontally poliarized, like Divis.

Probaly was Cambret Hill then even thgough it is in the west Borders and as Mr. Rabbit says it is listed as East Borders.
It would be amazing to have picked up Jedburgh when it is only putting out 35 watts.

Probably not all that surprising since, as the crow flies, Cambrett Hill is not that much further away than Divis.

Don't forget that the ERPs of the current Freeview set up at Divis are only 2.3 Kw and less than 2 kw for some multiplexes.

2.8 kw is nearly twice the ERP, so it's probably not that much of a surprise especially if your brother's already receiving Freeview from Divis.

Any of you guys with knowledge of subject wonder if increased power from NI post ASO will result in more frequent intrusions of Freeview signal - any chance we could end up with Freeview on a regular/permenent basis in midlands from NI due to increased power ??

Don't have much knowledge but this page - http://www.ukfree.tv/txdetail.php?a=IJ287750 - suggests an increase of 35x the power. If correct this should push the signal well into the ROI.

Freeview in Howth, what do you think?

The house is quite elevated, and I guess its a clear run across the water to North Wales.

Shouldnt be a problem if you have the right aerial.
I know a few people in Rush who can get it.

I'd be very interested in what their setup is, as I'd like to try for tv from Wales.
Would it be a big ask for you find out what equipment they're using and let me know.
