Does anyone have a list of the above please.
Having do an emissions check on each model is just taking too long!
Anything in or around Mondeo size.
    Thanks.

Attached is a PDF document put together around April 2008, based on an excel spreadsheet put together by a few boardsies to work out prices pre and post the July 08 changes.

Couldn't attach the original excel doc as it was too big.

Would it be possible to pick up a decent 2008 mid range diesel for about 7000?
Uk or Ireland and higher milage don't matter.

It could be but you're going to have bills if you do. It might be worth pricing up a Vectra in the UK. They are plentiful and cheap to buy and vrt is lowish.

Personally I'd rather buy a mint car a couple of years older with lower mileage. The tax saving won't cover repair bills the way you're going.

Great point. Its only 300ish P/A as opposed to replacing a DMF/DPF.

Very true about the older better car. But this car is for a relation and she's been listening to people going on about cheap tax on 2008 and newer models. Plus we have a relative in London who buys a bit from the auctions and says he'll get her a car for a good bit cheaper than advertised on the net. Problem is, he doesn't want to study too much into emissions, vrt costs and tax etc. So the way it goes is, i give him make and model and he goes and buys it!
Personally i'd go for an older motor alright.
Are the 08 vectra's considered a good car?

Take the vrt and transport costs out of €7000 and you don't have 08 car money left.
Anything that would fall into budget will have a reason for being well below market value
