Os X Lion - slowing down your computer

    Hello all,

    Im not sure if this has been mentioned yet as reading through 110 pages of posts wasnt top of my agenda for today.
    But I installed Lion the other day after its release, and I have to say I have found that my computer has slowed down considerably since its installation ? Is anybody else having this problem too?
    I have a 13" MBP.

    Thank God I didn't go for it. I thought this shyte only happened with MS. And thank God for this thread!

    The indexing system has been redesigned to be make the OS faster. After installation, Lion needs to reindex the whole hard drive. It will be alot slower until this is finished. Apparently it can take upto 9 hours. I find it alot quicker than Snow Leopard now.

    Mine was painfully slow until spotlight finished indexing. At that point it appears to be faster then the previous version. Especially the instant launch mode helps.
