If you had multimillions of those Euros, and a choice of developers, what would you do? And in the interest of trying to keep it along the same lines, i've created a little template:

    The Pitch:

    Style:

    Developer:

    The Engine:

    Art Style:

    Name:

    Main Character(s):

    Special Edition Contents:

    For me:

The Pitch:A GTA Style game, based in the Vatican/Rome, in the early 13th century, where you can play either a) a Silas type character, doing the bidding of an orgainsation hell bent on the destruction of the Catholic Church, or b) an "Angelic" priest, secret of the Vatican, and dispatched to deal with Church-threatening organisations.

Style: Sandbox, like a GTA/Yakuza hyprid

Developer: I would live Valve on board, everything they touch is usually gold, and damn they know how to make a good game.

The Engine: Would have to be Source, but the newest(possibly not developed yet) version.

Art Style: Graphics á lá GTA IV, dark and daunting, but not necessarily dark (colour-wise).

    Name: Revelations

    Main Character(s):
Angelic Priest - John. Raised from birth within the Vatican, trained in a variety of martial arts, including Kalarippayattu, Taekwondo and Silat, and equipped with Catholicism inspired weaponary (Cruiciblade, Rosary Garrote, etc).

Silas type - "Wrath". Raised by an organisation whose sole purpose is waiting for that moment to attack the Catholic Church and bring down the most powerful organisation in the world. Trained in the deadly arts of Muay Thai, Krav Maga and Wing Chun, equipped with 13th Century weaponary, modified for purpose.

    Special Edition Contents: A Cruciblade

Yeah, maybe it sounds like a love child of Angels & Demons and Van Helsing, but i'd want to play it!

    engine - 400 XL w/MASC
Name - Battlemeching with Chris Eubank
special edition contents - litre bottle of rum
    the pitch - anfield

To be honest Id just love to invent something new and different, most likely my games would get banned worldwide. There would be no playing the goody goody in my games, just pure terrorism and anarchy.

The Pitch: Battlefield - Crossbows and Catapults , Using the same engine as Battlefield 3 , a remake of the popular board game In the game two sides, originally Vikings and Barbarians , build fortifications from a limited number of bricks then opposing teams attempt to destroy each other's castle with large crossbows (similar to ballistae) and catapults.

    Style:
Similar to the usual Battlefield style of 64 v 64 players online only as the player can design their own castles no two games are ever the same (unless you don't change your design) . Players move up the Ranks and unlock heavier weapons and access to better Armor etc..
    Different classes (Archers/warriors/Champions etc)
    Siege weapons

    Developer: DICE/EA

    The Engine: Frostbite 3

Art Style: Think Skyrim/Mount and Blade

    Name: Battlefield 1042

Main Character(s): Vikings Vs Anglo-Norman Saxons

Special Edition Contents: The original Board Game with Special un-lockable weapons such as Two handed Axe.

    :D

The Pitch: Battlefield - Crossbows and Catapults

I'd go for that. Loved Crossbows and Catapults as a child.

Does sound an awful lot like Rampart though (which is no bad thing!)

The Pitch: Streets of Rage but with wrestlers. Bit of X-Men in there too.

Style: A bright, colourful side-scrolling beat em' up. With wrestlers. Clean up the streets and battle against evil wrestlers with multiple branching paths, boosts, new moves, characters etc. It'd be up to 4 person co-op. Awesome chiptune renditions of wrestler themes and incongruous dialogue.

Art Style: Awesome beefy 2D hand-drawn sprites; think SSF2THDRemix.

Developer: I don't know anything about developers so I won't pretend to.

    The Engine: Ditto

Main Character(s): It'd depend if you're gonna play as the good guys or bad guys. But all the names from the past and present wrestling. Hogan, Savage, Warrior, Bret, Austin, Rock, Cena; each with their signature moves as light/strong attacks, combos, specials etc. You'd face the villainous Million Dollar Man, Undertaker CM Punk etc in various themed levels (eg Taker's level features zombies, Kane's is in hell, DiBiase's is in a lavish casino, Punk's religious zealots, Miz with paparazzi's I could do this for ages lol) Vince McMahon would be the last villain; have him show up periodically like Magneto did.

Release : This would be a downloadable title, not a full retail release. I'd imagine that it should only be about an hour long in total. Beat 'em ups should be short. I'd bring out a DLC pack later on with additional levels and bosses.

(p.s. i realise they had a REALLY CRAPPY side-scrolling beat 'em up released a decade ago. This is not that.)

    Here's your art-style

Now imagine that as a side-scrolling beat 'em up with wrestlers :)

The Pitch: Space based MMO, as detailed and huge as EVE Online only first or 3rd person based.. Kinda like Mass Effect i guess (Maybe the old republic ? Or Dust ? Who knows)

    Style: First or Third person

Developer: I'd like a combined development team of Valve and Blizzard

The Engine: Whatever is best !

Art Style: Realistic... dark+bright color schemes depending on planets etc

    Name: Spaceworld adventures

If that doesnt work... i'd like World of Counterstrike... again a combined effort from valve and blizzard :P

I thought Guerilla took a step in the right direction with the game mode in Killzone 3 (forget what it's called) Where you and your team work towards a goal before you can advance in the game.

I can see it working well in a Battlefield game.

Team A must first defend a bridge, Team B take the bridge and can then use tanks etc.

Team A spawn on AA guns Team B attack when AA's are down Team B can then use air support.

Team A spawn on fortress final battle ensues as they try to defend the courtyard.

I like the idea of actually having to work with your team mates to acheive goals online.

A Decent FPS within a Zombie Apocolypse.

Set in a Fallout 3/ STALKER type engine/universe. MMO but with Single Player instances to keep a story going. Non Linear maps everything can be explored.

You have to scrounge for food, fuel, ammo, medicine etc. plenty of sub-quests.

lots of player generated stashes lots of custom weapons.

Full zombie dynamics, headshots only. You can respawn as a Zed & develope an alternate Zed character.

    Basically an FPS Urban Dead.

As savage and all as that game is, for some reason it never came to mind when i was typing...

But yeah, more Assassins Creed please! :) But the option to play both sides!

    Sci-Fi Total-War. (working title)

Set a couple of hundred years from now, no aliens, just disparate human factions. You build a huge space empire, designing ships, researching technologies, fighting for control over space sectors, deploying ground troops to invade planets/moons. Basically Galactic Civilisations, but much more serious, cinematic and dramatic, perhaps more like Battlestar Galactica in feel, with strong Freespace II influences.

Really inventive use of technologies and huge freedom in terms of designing your ships etc. If I want to build a moon-sized station whose purpose is to shut down the entire communications of an enemy planet, I want that to be possible.

(As something of a tangent, I remember in GalCivII taking a huge cargo rig and filling it to the brim with sensors, not even leaving space for engines. Its sight range was so great that it revealed the entire game map the whole time....that's the sort of freedom in design I'm talking about)

This has basically been my dream game for years.

I'd love to see an FPS implementation of the old Games Workshop Necromunda game. Would work exceptionally well for single and multiplayer, a the "hive" it's set in would be huge but not utterly impossible to design like the entire universe would be. It could work as an MMO too. Huge range of characters and classes you could play as, rich in story and content already and pretty much anything's possible in that world.

And of course, because Necromunda is based on a planet which is mostly spherical and there's an "o" in the name, that takes care of the Circular design straight away, so it practically designs itself.

Modern Warfare without perks. Guns that do realistic damage and a massive customisation system! I mean massive with rails, attachments, bullet types, custom camo, customizable gear . . . . . . . basically cod as we know it but far more detailed!

A ww2 multiplayer online shooter that somehow tries to push the boundries of how many players its possible to have online, e.g. 128+

So tired of 2 jeeps, 2 tanks gameplay.. I want giant armoured spearheads

The most I've ever seen is a convoy of 13 tanks driving together on the map Aberdeen in BF2

The Pitch: An Elder Scrolls style RPG set during the Crusades. Location in the Middle East, Jerusalem, Damascus and such. You create a character and can choose to ally yourself with the Christian settlers or the Saracens, or anywhere in between!

Style: 13th century Crusades with Christian and Arabic styles coming together. Lots of cool arms, armor and architecture. Nice open deserts too (think Fallout NV)

Developer: Probably Bethesda as I think they would design a good world

The Engine: New engine for Skyrim I guess. It would be pretty similar in gameplay to Fallout/Elder scrolls

    Art Style: Middle Eastern influence

    Name: Heretic

Main Character(s): Up to the player!

Special Edition Contents: Badass Templar/ Saracen Sword

A concept that has always interested me is a game that utilizes random chance in storytelling. A game built with many dozens of important setpieces, but most players will only experience two or three per playthrough. These incidences would have genuine 'repercussions' that are actually out of the control of the player - so a valuable NPC could be killed, and the game would alter to reflect this in both story and gameplay terms. So you could play the game 'perfectly' in terms of basic gameplay but that is no guarantee the scenario would play out the way you expect it to. No playthrough would be the same, and the possibility is that individual's experience would radically differ from each others. It could last two or three hours for some if a player is 'unlucky', twenty plus for others.

You'd probably have to throw in zombies for ****s and giggles.

That should keep you occupied for a month or two. And I just found out 10 seconds ago that a third* expansion, Rebellion, has been announced. Hurray! And Sins Trinity is only $20 now.

*apparently a full expansion, not the micro-expansions seen in Entrenchment or Diplomacy.

GTAIV is fun....if you reverse the affects of friction

My best idea: free roaming through a city with Assassins Creed/ Mirrors Edge style parkour plus stealth, playing as a photo journalist recording the conflict between the police and the rioters with events occuring even if your not there. Take photos and recover files from both sides to uncover the motivations and the puppetmasters behind both sides (police beating rioters and interrogations/torture while the rioters are staging photo ops to build publicity or ransacking peoples homes).

Only problem is trying to apply a narrative structure to a game where you could uncover one or both sides, or could miss events or important points.
