CD drive not working

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" is what I was told when I looked into device manager. What can I do please? I need to use CD drive. It was working fine til now. Thanks the only thing I've done differently is that I up-dated firefox.
