Indeed. I would actively go out of my way to avoid buying a car with MO plates on it. Any of the others I'd have no issue with.

Oh sweet Jesus - you won't buy a car because it's got a Carlow reg:rolleyes::mad:?

I suppose it's got to have that "precious" D reg doesn't it?

Sorry to be personal, but this whole reg plate snobbery, in particular this mind numbingly stupid thing about having a D reg really grinds my gears!

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest, but it's the OP's money and the OP's choice. I've a friend who won't buy cars registered in odd years - I don't lose much sleep over it.;)

Same as that now. I have a G reg at the moment and a LD reg and I live in Cork.

You are lucky you don't have to change plates.

I have to change my plates again as I have moved to a different province in Bulgaria. Plates have to be changed if a car moves to a different region. It costs money and time to queue up and have new plates fitted by the police. Do you want that kind of hassle?

Heh, so I'm opposite, as I would love to have MO plates.
I had it on my car, but wife crashed it, and now I got another one with LK plates.
    I'm so sad now :D

Dont live in Dublin and it's not "D Reg" snobbery I previously had CN reg and took months to get rid of it and at less than it's value!

Couldn't have been anything to do with type of car/market conditions/economy/condition/perceived value etc?

I don't buy that for a second. You previously had a non-\D car - so you know you paid less for it, then. You sold it for less than a D reg, later. But I'd wager the difference between buying and selling a non-D, vs buying and selling a D reg, is no different.

We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I'd say that was more down to a bad advert and wrong pricing than the reg.

That depends on the car. The CW regd car might be overpriced for what it is.

No matter what way you spin it, CN plates are bad for resale.

    Nah, he drives a C reg too:D

I'd try my best to get a C reg but only because I'll be selling it on in Cork again most likely. Some people get really touchy about the county designation for some reason.

Yeah I don't get the touchiness. Although my jeep is an LH reg and i do get a few jokes about laundered diesel thrown my way!

Maybe the government could introduce this sort of service for people who have still got too much money? Say charge them €500 for a new number.
