The following has been posted on the Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) website:
DkIT is proposing that a 12,000 capacity stadium is constructed on lands at their Campus in partnership with Louth GAA.

This stadium will be the first phase of the Institutes sporting infrastructure programme which will also include a major sports building that DkIT is independently developing incorporating state of the art sporting facilities and accommodation. The Sports building has already gone to public procurement and is planned to commence once that process has been completed.

Needed for the county, considering Louth keeps losing home advantage for championship/qualifier ties.

Looks impressive but would a C/ship game between Louth and Dublin or Meath not draw a far bigger crowd than 12 thousand ?

It's well overdue if this is true. Drogheda is an absolute hole at the moment.

That looks like a great plan to me, imvho the building of white elephant stadiums is the biggest wastes in the GAA, having a stadium that will cater for the counties needs rather than 1 potentially big game every few years
